Junior Development Program
The Sydney United Junior Development Program offers young athletes an opportunity to continue their growth and refine their skills during the post-season. Designed for players seeking to enhance their technical abilities, tactical understanding, and overall game performance, the program provides structured, high-quality coaching in a supportive environment.
Led by Head Coaches Jinsoo Han and Kevin Chan, both Level 2 State Coaches, and supported by a team of experienced and dedicated coaches, the program focuses on individual development while fostering teamwork, discipline, and a strong understanding of the game. Sessions include skill development, match play strategies, physical conditioning, and game awareness to ensure each athlete progresses effectively.

Membership Requirement: All participants must hold at least a Recreational Membership with Sydney United Volleyball Club.
This post-season program provides a valuable pathway for juniors to continue developing their volleyball skills and prepare for future competition.

Active Kids Vouchers
Sydney United Volleyball Club is an approved Active Kids Voucher (AKV) provider.
The NSW Government Active Kids Program helps families support their children in staying active. Parents, guardians, and carers of school-aged children receiving Family Tax Benefit can apply for 2 x $50 Active Kids Vouchers per eligible child each year.

Junior Development Program – Sample Session (2 Hours)
A typical 2-hour session in the Junior Development Program is carefully structured to maximize skill development, game understanding, and fitness:

Warm-Up & Mobility (15 mins) – Dynamic stretching, footwork, and movement drills to prepare the body.

Technical Skills (40 mins) – Focused work on passing, serving, setting, attacking, blocking, or defensive skills, depending on the session plan.

Tactical & Game Play Drills (30 mins) – Small-sided games and situational drills to apply skills in match scenarios.

Conditioning & Agility (20 mins) – Volleyball-specific fitness exercises to enhance strength, speed, and endurance.

Cool-Down & Reflection (15 mins) – Stretching, recovery exercises, and discussion of key learnings from the session.
10-Week Program Overview
The 10-week Junior Development Program is designed to progressively build skills and game understanding:

Weeks 1–2: Fundamentals of passing, serving, and movement; basic game rules.

Weeks 3–4: Introduction to attacking, blocking, and defensive positioning; teamwork emphasis.
