Adult Development Program
The Sydney United Adult Development Program is designed for athletes seeking to enhance their skills, performance, and understanding of the game. The program caters to players of all levels, from those returning to the sport to those aiming for high-performance and Premier League competition.
Led by Coach Azuma Arakaki and Coach Amer Chermand, both Level 3 National Coaches, the program provides expert guidance and advanced coaching to develop technical proficiency, tactical awareness, and physical conditioning. Supported by a team of experienced coaches, sessions are structured to challenge athletes while providing targeted feedback for continuous improvement.
Our extensive program structure includes skill refinement, match simulation, strength and conditioning, and mental preparation, all designed to prepare athletes for high-level competition and Premier League opportunities.

Membership Requirement: All participants must hold at least a Recreational Membership with Sydney United Volleyball Club.

Adult Development Program – Sample Session (2 Hours)
A standard 2-hour session in the Adult Development Program is designed to develop advanced skills, tactical understanding, and match fitness:

Warm-Up & Mobility (15 mins) – Dynamic stretching, volleyball-specific movement, and agility preparation.

Technical Skills (40 mins) – Focused drills on passing, serving, setting, attacking, blocking, and defensive techniques.

Tactical & Game Play Drills (30 mins) – Situational drills, rotations, and small-sided games to develop decision-making and court awareness.

Strength & Conditioning (20 mins) – Volleyball-specific exercises to improve power, endurance, and agility.

Cool-Down & Reflection (15 mins) – Stretching, recovery, and feedback discussion to consolidate learning.
10-Week Program Overview
The 10-week Adult Development Program is structured to prepare athletes for high-level competition, including Premier League:

Weeks 1–2: Assessment of individual skills, movement patterns, and physical conditioning; basic tactical review.
