Purpose
Sydney United Volleyball Club (SUV) is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where all members, athletes, coaches, referees, volunteers, and supporters are treated with respect and dignity. This policy outlines SUV’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and the promotion of a safe and respectful sporting environment in accordance with NSW legislation.
Scope
This policy applies to all:

Employees, volunteers, and contractors of Sydney United Volleyball Club

Athletes, referees, and coaches participating in SUV programs

Members, supporters, and visitors engaged in SUV activities, events, or competitions
This policy governs behaviour, practices, and interactions at all SUV-managed venues, events, training sessions, competitions, and online platforms.

Sydney United Volleyball Club actively promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion and seeks to ensure that:

Inclusive Participation

Participation in volleyball is encouraged regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, cultural background, sexual orientation, religion, or ability.

Responsibilities

Board and Executive: Ensure the policy is implemented, reviewed annually, and aligned with NSW legislation.

Staff and Coaches: Promote an inclusive and equitable environment and complete any required training programs.

Athletes and Members: Respect the rights of others and participate in a manner consistent with this policy.

Volunteers and Partners: Comply with SUV’s diversity and inclusion commitments.
Policy Breaches
Breaches of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including:

Suspension or removal from SUV programs or competitions

Termination of volunteer or employment arrangements

Reporting to relevant NSW regulatory authorities if required
Review and Monitoring
This policy will be reviewed annually by the Board to ensure compliance with legislation, best practices, and the evolving needs of the Sydney United Volleyball Club community.
